There's so much out there...

... and we've yet to discover it. The Universe is simply ENORMOUS!! Yet, people continue with the facade of being cool and all that irrelevant nonsense. Can we stop?! Stop with the "cool guy" act. Stop with the "toughness" front. Stop with the all the BS!! There are more important things in life than being the coolest person out there. Trust me. We shouldn't be hurting people. We should be helping them.

Compared to you, the stars are dust.

Family ties.

Honestly, I don't know what has happened to family and tradition. There's too much fighting, arguing, and disputing over things, that when compared to family, are insignificant. Many seem to have lost their values for family and truth and honor and loyalty. I can't really blame them though, because society is too caught up in the "bullshit" and the "spotlight" to have time for things as simple and important as family. I know my family ties and family values. Do you?

Injustice Anywhere is a Threat to Justice Everywhere

Life is short, but some days seem long. Some things are worth fighting for, but life's too short to be fighting. Open hearts and open minds are exceptional, yet the closed ones are the ones that help us appreciate. The truth really shall set you free, but the lies keep you prisoner. Being able to accept and be accepted are a plus, yet rejection helps you keep pushing forward. And remember, Martin Luther King Jr. once said, " the problem today is not the mean words of the bad people, it's the silence of the good people."

What ever happened to respect?

What ever DID happen to respect?! People seem to have lost it. Some think they can do things without it affecting others, or without one's permission. If something's not yours, you should probably ask before you do something foolish with it. If you need something, ask politely. Say excuse me. This feels like it's a 1st grade class!! People don't know how to behave anymore. If "adults" are acting this way, how can we hope for a better future for the children? People need to wake up.

Don't mistake my kindness for weakness.

A grown man acting childish!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Wow." That's what first comes to my mind when I see footage of the S. Carolina senator calling the President a liar. This is directed towards Joe Wilson:

You are an ignorant FOOL!! You're a grown man and not to mention a SENATOR and you interrupt the nations President in the middle of a speech?!?!?! Apparently children have more manners and common sense than you do. And honestly, all of you showing unreasonable resentment to the President, need to calm down. Your racism is truly sickening.

I hope the senator and all the racists read this. Your mentality is based on ignorance. Foolish adults.

9/11----8 years later.

I'm quite sure that most of us remember where we were and what we were doing during the attacks on September 11, 2001. Some would say that the nation came together during these attacks. Let me tell you, our countries moment of "togetherness" did not last too long. The worst attack yet on U.S. soil strongly affected EVERYONE, but our nation is still so segregated by hate, crime, and ignorance. People really need to stop being foolish. We need to coexist with each other, especially in a time when the nation has been hindered. Ladies, gentlemen, boys, and girls, please understand that hate is a strong word, but love is much stronger. Communicate. Compromise. Coexist.

The right choices...(In my opinion)

To live life in vain is to not live at all. Many people take things for granted, such as life. At one point I was one of those people, but I've been approaching things differently for a while now. One must realize that life is a gift, and it should be enjoyed to the fullest. Enjoying your life means to have fun, but to be responsible as well. For instance, if one is going to go have drinks, make sure you don't drive after you've drank. That is being irresponsible. You see, I don't drink or smoke. Maybe a drink every so often, but that is quite rare. People ask me, "what DO you do?" Are you for real? What do I do? There are so many things that one can do without participating in activities such as binge drinking and getting high. As a matter of fact, one does not have to "be on another level" to have a good time. Yea, so what? I'm always sober.... That doesn't mean I don't have fun. And being sober is a great thing, atleast for me it is. I can drive my friends if they've been drinking and I can take care of them if they're in need of it. People judge too hastily. So until you've gotten to know me, don't pass judgement so quickly because I choose not to drink nor smoke. As cliche as it may sound, I'm high off life!! And I always have a great time!!

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder!!

Ok. Just because someone from a certain country wins Ms. Universe, does NOT mean those are the "most beautiful women." Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, for one. Women are beautiful, each in their own way. But just because you are from --country name-- does not make you beautiful. Beauty is not only about looks either. What's inside counts a WHOLE LOT!! People need to CHILL with the ETHNOCENTRISM, please!! I love women. I dislike ignorance. I can't stand falseness. Oh and, congratulations to Ms. Venezuela.

Usain "LIGHTNING" Bolt!!

I just had to write about him!! This man is UN-HUMANLY FAST!! He's broken 5 world records in the last 12 months!!!!!!!!!! He is certainly, without a doubt, THE fastest man in the world. He is the epitome of speed and hard work as well. My respect and congratulations go to Usain Bolt.

Communicate & Compromise!!

Too often, communication lacks. People usually do not take the initiative to communicate with one another and compromise. If the world would have more compromise, we'd see less arguing, less war. Communication brings living things together. To understand one another, we MUST communicate. By means of communication is how we may reach compromise. Open your mind to begin making the world a better place.

The twilight series

So, last night I finished reading the final book from the twilight series, "breaking dawn." These books are amazing. Each book is captivating and it was hard for me to put them down. If Stephenie Meyer ever reads this blog, I want to tell her thank you for writing them. I really didn't want "breaking dawn" to end. When I was finished, I was a little sad because I knew that that was it for the series, but I'm so glad that I read them. Stephenie Meyer did a wonderful job. She kept me into the story every second. I felt as if I were part of the books. If you haven't already read the books, READ THEM!! I saw the movie "twilight" before I read the first book, but a friend of mine HIGHLY recommended that I read the first one, and I did. Thank you to her. I aslo want to thank her for lending me the books!! =] It doesn't matter if you're a male or a female. Some people choose to talk bad about the twilight series, but they probably haven't given it a chance. From a guy's perspective, it was a wonderful journey through a fictional tale that had quite a bit of reality to it. I hope Stephenie Meyer releases another. We'll see. ;]

Unity. I love it!!

On Saturday, July 25th, 2009, parts of the world came together. About 100 cities all over the world, in 6 different continents, gathered to protest for the liberty of those who were arrested in Iran during their protests during the presidential election there. This is something that's good to see. People coming together to show support for other people, even though they don't personally know them!! This is a positive step in making the world a better place. Global unity leads to global peace.

Are you for real? Racism?

A summer camp in Philadelphia with children in the grades of K-7th, went to a local pool. The camp was contracted to go once a week. When they arrived, the children went to their activity leader telling her that people were saying "what are these black kids doing here?" ARE YOU FOR REAL?!?!?!?!?! What on EARTH is wrong with these people?! These children are trying to enjoy their summer and people have to ruin it with racism!! The racism was followed by what some think of as discrimination. The camp could not return after this incident, but the club said that there was not enough room. This is SIMPLY RIDICULOUS!! The child they interviewed on CNN was crying. And then people wonder why there are blacks who dislike whites and vie-versa. The racism NEEDS TO STOP!! If not for youself, do it for the children!!

What is this world coming to?

I'm seeing too much bad on our planet. People need to understand that we are the ones who are ruining our world. Government's lying to the people. Spouses cheating on one another. Siblings fighting with each other. It might sound cliche, but can't we all just get along?! If you don't love the person you're with, talk to them and help them understand the situation. And then separate so that cheating is out of the picture, because if you're cheating on them, they don't deserve that unless they are doing the same to you. And it still wouldn't make it right. Siblings need to communicate just like people in relationships. Talk about your problems and fix them. Family is there for one to have, not to hate.
And as far as the whole government's and countries issue, the war is ridiculous. It has been from the get-go. Iran is going KRAYZIE protesting. The people in L.A. who were "celebrating" their basketball teams championship victory went out on to the streets causing catastrophe. Flipping cars, burning things, hurting people. What can I do about that? I'm trying to change the world by being kind to people and writing blogs about what I think we should do to make the world a better place!! I need people to spread my word, and not only that, but also to act accordingly. You know, the whole "talk the talk, walk the walk?" Talking won't don't it all. Tell people about this blog. Subscribe to it. Subscribe to my notes on facebook. We can make good things a CONTAGIOUS EPIDEMIC!! I need people's help though. I'm willing to do it solo, but that would be pretty tough if no one cooperates. So, what is this world coming to? Let's make it something good. Thank you.

ACCUSATIONS!!

"You're accusing me of what?!" Some people need to get their stories straight when they accuse someone of doing something. Relationships, friendships, etc. I understand that many people lie, but before accusing someone of doing something, make sure you're charges are legit. People jump to conclusions too often. If you're going to accuse your boyfrined/girlfriend of something, talk it out first, unless you actually SAW THEM "commit the crime." Get the facts first!!

It's nice to live in a fairy tale sometimes...

It feels good when you watch a movie or read a book and you really get into it. You begin to live it in a way (like Jose with Quantum of solace, inside joke.) It's nice to dream of a world where you can have the woman/man of your dreams. But then we are brought back to the reality of life where there are rarely any Elizabeth Swann's and William Turner's or Bella Swan's and Edward Cullen's. When you read the book or watch the movie, your mind drifts into a better place. You feel nothing but what is happening in the story. When returned to reality, you see that things are different. Chivalry is no longer common in men. Loyalty is rarely seen amongst humans anymore. Many males are assholes and many females are bitches. Excuse my choice of words but I felt them to be the most fitting. To find a good man/woman as one's significant other is difficult, but not impossible. Keep searching for that someone, and never give up. True love comes easy when found. It's the search that may be a little tough. We can't make men be gentlmen and women be ladies, but we can start by being gentlemen and ladies.

No dream is out of reach.

Bad things, good people....

People wonder why bad things happen to good people. Let's remember, even though the person is good, there are still bad people out there. What I would like to know is, why would someone want to do bad to another person? Why would you want to hurt someones mother or father? Why would you want to do bad to a child who's innocence is still that? Why would you want to cheat on your significant other? What could possibly possess you to kill someone other than in self-defense? But we wouldn't need self-defense if there were no bad. We wouldn't need lie detectors if people knew how to tell the truth. We wouldn't need guns for "protection" if we didn't have to protect ourselves from anyone. This world is going KRAYZIE and people are losing it as each day passes. Whatever happened to doing the right the thing because it felt good inside? Whether you belive in religion or not, you still know right from wrong. Do the right thing and we can change the world one step at a time. We can go from baby steps to olympic jumps, but let's do it!! Thank you.

We all have our moments.

We have our moments where our strength is tested. Our courage. Our fear. Our wisdom. Our loyalty. Our honesty. Our determination. Our weakness. Our power. Our knowledge. Our beliefs. Our faith. Our will. Our confidence. Our self-control. Our LOVE. One must dig deep in these moments and bare all we have, not caring who is watching. I almost lost someone I loved this past weekend, and I was scared. But my strength and my faith and my LOVE pushed me forward. I'm not making this a religious issue, but my faith in God is certainly stronger at this moment. We all have our moments, we just have to push ourselves to pass the test.

If the sun falls to oblivion while it is setting, will you wonder why? Or would you change the world with me?

The truth.

The truth may hurt, but I prefer pain before sweet deceptions. Bittersweet perhaps, because it may be nice to hear it but not nice to be fooled by it. The truth is hard to handle at times, but so is love, temptation, and loss, but we tend to survive through it. The truth shows who we are, but the lies show who we are as well. The truth is what we should aim for and the falseness should be what we stray from. Plain and simple, "the truth shall set you free."

Come on MARLINS!!

The Marlins were winning last night 3-0 in the top of the ninth. Matt Lindstrom allowed a run, and then proceeded to walk a batter with the bases loaded which brought in another run. And then, the next batter hit a grand slam which was followed by another homerun. The Marlins went on to lose 7-3. Come on MARLINS!!!!!! That game was disappointing!! We're on a 4 game losing streak, let's step it up!!!!!!!!!!

LoL!! Can you believe that?!

Ok, so someone who doesn't have the courage to say who they are commented on one of my blogs and they wrote some pretty offending things. Well, I have to be honest, I personally was not offended by what an embarassed-by-who-they-are-person wrote because I feel sorry for them. It is not there fault they cannot speak articulately, intellectually, intelligently and at the same time elaborate on a topic they are not educated on. No, it's not their fault.... Who am I kidding, it is there fault. I don't feel sorry for them. But hey, it's ok, stay embarrassed by who you are, like 2-Pac said, "I ain't mad at cha."

Lightness in the Cruel World:2-Say thank you and mean it....

... if you don't mean it, at least say it to be polite. People are quite ungrateful these days. From something as simple as saying "thank you" for someone saying "bless you" or for holding the door open, to something higher up on the scale such as someone going out of there way to help you with something. Just the fact that someone is helping you and remembered you, should be enough for one to be and feel grateful and a little important. And there are many children who have no manners and they're the future of our world. Let's use manners and spread them the best way possible. Good manners are contagious and lead on to better things. I choose to lead by example. Say thank you, it goes a long way.

Lightness in the cruel world: 1

Be a gentleman. Hold the door open. Say thank you. Tell the TRUTH. What ever happened to these "attributes." The world is cruel. It is filled with deceit, dishonor, disgust!! Being two-faced is nothing to be proud of, it's dishonorable. Using people and deceiving them with lies and tales and the falseness of your every word is deceitful. Having no respect for yourself is simply disgusting.

Think about what you've done, wrong and right. Did you really have to do so much wrong? Did you have to lie? Were you scared to show who you really are, even though the real you is currently on display with your deceptions? Did you have to own up to expectations of what was figured you would be? The answer appears to be yes to all of those. I don't mind, I'm fine either way, but the world should be a better place, for you and for me. Light up the darkness.

Hypocrites

Hypocrites. There is nothing good to say about them, only that they give us something to talk and write about. If you are feeling a certain way about something, say what you have to. Do not be a hypocrite. If you are going to talk bad about someone, and then be there "friend", you look like a fool. People need to stop being FAKE. We can all do without hypocrites, but they can't do without us. They need prey to feed off of. Well they won't get food from me!! If you're a hypocrite, first recognize that you are one. And then, STOP BEING ONE. Thanks.

Jail for throwing a shoe!!

Ok, ok , ok. I'm sure we all remember that a man threw his shoes at our former President, George W. Bush. This man was sentenced to serve 3 YEARS in jail for throwing shoes at a countries head of state. Yea, it's not right to throw your shoes at someone, especially if they're the President of a country, but 3 YEARS?!?! It is understandable that the man learns his lesson and manners, but George W. Bush wasn't the best of human beings or leaders. He gave off a vibe that he didn't care too much about what was going on. Well, back to the "shoe thrower." This man claims that he was tortured while he was in custody. It doesn't sound impossible that this happened to him, seeing how all the violence continues in our country/world, even though some of us strive for world peace. 3 years seems like too much, but not much can be done once the "government of the people, for the people, by the people" has made up its mind.

Trying to fit in?!

Some people try too hard to "fit in." No one should have to try to "fit in", people should notice that some people have troubles that they do not speak of. Society is quick to judge people based on looks, character which they haven't had the chance to get to know, there sex, there skin color, there nationality, and other things that which are quite unfair to the person being judged. What the world needs is compromise and understanding. If compromise was more common on earth, it would be a COMPLETELY different place. No war, no unnecessary arguments. And once we take the time to understand one another and how we feel on certain issues, we would all be able to relate to more subjects and not judge so quickly. Moral of the story: Compromise and Understanding one another would change the world.
"Actions have reactions, don't be quick to judge. You may not know the hardships people don't speak of. It's best to step back, and observe with couth, for we all must meet our moment of truth."-Guru

John Legends Letter to NY Post Editor!!

John Legend sent this letter to the editor of the New York Post in regerd to the article which was published with two police officers pointing a gun at a chimpanzee. Enjoy

"Open Letter to the New York Post
Dear Editor:I'm trying to understand what possible motivation you may have had for publishing that vile cartoon depicting the shooting of the chimpanzee that went crazy. I guess you thought it would be funny to suggest that whomever was responsible for writing the Economic Recovery legislation must have the intelligence and judgment of a deranged, violent chimpanzee, and should be shot to protect the larger community. Really? Did it occur to you that this suggestion would imply a connection between President Barack Obama and the deranged chimpanzee? Did it occur to you that our President has been receiving death threats since early in his candidacy? Did it occur to you that blacks have historically been compared to various apes as a way of racist insult and mockery? Did you intend to invoke these painful themes when you printed the cartoon?
If that's not what you intended, then it was stupid and willfully ignorant of you not to connect these easily connectable dots. If it is what you intended, then you obviously wanted to be grossly provocative, racist and offensive to the sensibilities of most reasonable Americans. Either way, you should not have printed this cartoon, and the fact that you did is truly reprehensible. I can't imagine what possible justification you have for this. I've read your lame statement in response to the outrage you provoked. Shame on you for dodging the real issue and then using the letter as an opportunity to attack Rev. Sharpton. This is not about Rev. Sharpton. It's about the cartoon being blatantly racist and offensive.I believe in freedom of speech, and you have every right to print what you want. But freedom of speech still comes with responsibilities and consequences. You are responsible for printing this cartoon, and I hope you experience some real consequences for it. I'm personally boycotting your paper and won't do any interviews with any of your reporters, and I encourage all of my colleagues in the entertainment business to do so as well. I implore your advertisers to seriously reconsider their business relationships with you as well. You should print an apology in your paper acknowledging that this cartoon was ignorant, offensive and racist and should not have been printed. I'm well aware of our country's history of racism and violence, but I truly believe we are better than this filth. As we attempt to rise above our difficult past and look toward a better future, we don't need the New York Post to resurrect the images of Jim Crow to deride the new administration and put black folks in our place. Please feel free to criticize and honestly evaluate our new President, but do so without the incendiary images and rhetoric.

Sincerely,John Legend"

Family.

This weekend, I was away from my hometown (Miami!!!!) because I went on a trip to Virginia because it was my great-aunt's 80th b-day. While I was up there, I saw plenty of history from our great country, but more importantly, I saw many members of my family that I had either not seen in a long time or never met before. They were all wonderful and welcoming. Family is one thing we should all cherish. I didn't want to come back so soon because I knew that I was going to miss them, especially Becca and ChristEna ;) but, my life's in Miami. Family is wonderful. Family is something not all people are blessed with and I am SO grateful that I am blessed with my loving family.

Why they hating on Obama?!

This was an article posted by the daily beast.

We can all stop dreaming about a post-partisan Obama-McCain alliance: Senator McCain is leading the fight against President Obama's stimulus bill, proposing in its stead a $445 billion package. "The proposal on the table is big on the giveaways for the special interests and corporate high rollers, yet short on help for ordinary working Americans," McCain said in a petition. In an interview with Sean Hannity last night, McCain slammed Obama over Tom Daschle, criticized Timothy Geithner, and agreed that the stimulus bill was "a rotting corpse."

Obama's plan will help schools, teachers, firefighters, and cops. We'll supposedly know where the money is going unlike Bush's plan when they "bailed out" the banks and large companies. GIVE OBAMA a CHANCE!! Bush had 8 years to show us how stupid he was and how stupid we were for re-electing him. Obama's our NEW HOPE!!

Say What You Need To Say

It's kind of scary to think that your words can't be heard. I like to be heard, and the thought of someone not hearing me express myself is a "Hol' up!!" moment. I don't know who will agree or disagree with my thoughts and feelings but I really don't care. I say what I need to say because I don't know if I am going to have the chance to say it tomorrow. I want people to know how I feel and when I feel it. What I'm getting at is that we should not be afraid to say how we feel because our feelings are what we posses inside ourselves and why should we fear the expression of our feelings?! If you have to say something, say it. Don't hold it back. Get it off your chest, off your mind, and out of your mouth. Do not fear rejection, for you have nothing to lose by expressing yourself. As long as you do not cause harm to anyone when expressing yourself, speak your thoughts and feelings. Your feelings can't speak for themselves, so help them come out. Tell someone you like them. Tell someone you love them. Tell someone thank you. Tell someone what you feel inside. DON'T BE AFRAID!! Thanks for your time. Spread the word and the message and spred LOVE and PEACE as well!!

SURVIVORS!!

That plane crash in the Hudson was something. What was really something was that there were survivors. And those survivors were 100% of the people on the flight!!!! It all happened because the plane hit some birds, but thankfully, only one person was seriously hurt. Everybody was fine. That is truly miraculouos.
