Don't be so quick to judge

Happy day my people! I hope everyone is doing great!

Today, I'd like everyone to take a minute to think before they react. As a matter of fact, this will help you RESPOND as opposed to REACT. A reaction can allow for us to utter words we may not mean; allow for an insult when those should never be our intentions.

I was reading a post on-line today and the first sentence said something along the lines of "believing the liberals.." I have also seen posts that read "the crazy Catholics.." or "these idiot Republicans.." In all honesty, we pass judgement when we label and we affect others as well. There is no need for insult.

In a world where we need more help from one another, let's do just that.

Have a great weekend everyone!

A Better Day is on the Horizon: How Healthcare Innovation is Changing the World
No matter where you’re from or what your background is, everyone on the planet should have the same goal: help make the world a better place. Though we all may have different ideas of what the ideal world looks like, or how we can get there, one thing is certain: improving the health and wellness of people all over the world will help us achieve this goal. Let’s take a look at the shifts on the healthcare front that are allowing for easy access to high quality care for everyone.

Better data means a laser-like focus on prevention over treatment
Everywhere you look, there are apps and electronics monitoring health. From apps being used as pedometers, to calorie counters, millions of Americans use technology to improve their health. Most people are familiar with interactive devices like the Apple Watch, Jawbone and FitBit, but you may not be aware that these apps are changing the future of healthcare.

Technology companies are currently working on ways to share data collected by fitness monitors with a patient’s doctor. They can then use it as part of their diagnostic toolbox. The more information they have about the lifestyle of their patients, the better doctors can diagnose issues early and can offer solutions to prevent disease from occurring at all. This is not only the most cost effective approach to medicine, but prevention can help patients avoid unnecessary pain and suffering.

Virtual visits with doctors mean easier access to healthcare
One of the main factors standing between Americans and better health is their lack of access to qualified medical professionals. This is often because people don’t want to visit the doctor over something they believe may not be a serious issue, qualified doctors aren’t available in their area, or they simply don’t have the time to get to the doctor. Virtual doctors visits can make these issues a thing of the past.

Board certified doctors are now offering online visits. These are not nurses, they are real doctors who can give real diagnoses. Of course many medical issues require an in-person doctor’s visit, but having access to these online services makes it more likely that patients will consult with a doctor before a minor symptom turns into a major health emergency.

Cloud resources make it easy for doctors and patients to communicate
The widespread availability of online medical charts allows patients to instantly access their test results, vaccine history, and all relevant information from their physician. It allows doctors to instantly respond to their patients about any questions or concerns they have. These online charts are safe, secure, confidential and HIPPA compliant. They allow patients to be more involved in their own healthcare, and empowering people to take their health seriously makes the world better, one person at a time.

Physicians can focus more acutely on their patients
If you ask any physician how they’d prefer to spend their working hours they’ll tell you they’d like to spend it with their patients. What gets in their way are the many essential tasks that must be completed but don’t add value to the patient experience: appointment setting, insurance billing, etc. With the newest innovations in healthcare outsourcing, physicians are able to turn these tasks over to specialists - leaving them with much more time to spend with their patients.

Physicians can communicate easily with each other
People with serious health concerns often have numerous doctors. They may have a general practitioner, an oncologist, a surgeon, and a physical therapist. Just a few years ago, getting information from one doctor to another required faxing or sending paper documents. Faxing results in suboptimal copies and mailing documents takes time – time that critically ill patients don’t always have.

These days mobile data is available and can be shared safely and securely from one doctor to another. This cuts down on the need for redundant testing, allows doctors to communicate instantly with one another, and gives patients a more efficient experience.

Innovation and technology are essential parts of every country’s health and well-being. As technology in healthcare improves, the results are higher quality care for everyone. These innovations are leading to the world truly becoming healthier and happier, and in turn, a much better place.

Be Honest

Happy day to everyone! Today, practice honesty.

When we are honest with ourselves, life gets easier. This may take time and practice as we naturally try to convince ourselves of what we want and at the same time struggle to see the truth. LET IT BE. Honesty and truth will only set you free.

When we lie, we are seeking to hide something. Perhaps we should reconsider what we are seeking to hide. Nor should we be ashamed of who we are, as this may be a reason for a lie.

Be honest. Be content with who you are and push yourself to be better. Be great. BE.

Much love,

Be Grateful

Hi everyone! I hope this day has treated everyone well!

I wanted to send out a reminder today. That reminder is about being grateful. Spend some time today thinking about things or people you are thankful for.

Some simple examples are:
-Your parents
-Your siblings
-Family
-Our 5 senses
-Your washer and dryer

And the list goes on. Just take time each day to think of at least one thing you are grateful for and this will change your perspective on a lot of things.

You will notice more patience, happiness, and other good feelings.

Start today!

Much love,

Remember that life is not an emergency

Happy Day to everyone! It is Friday and I want to share this with all of you Do-Gooders out there!

Remember that life is not an emergency. Perceived problems will arise and all we can do is handle them. No need to panic. No need to think life is over, because it most likely is not.

Also, remember to be kind today and everyday.

Enjoy this video that a good friend shared with me.

United we Stand, Divided we Fall

Happy day to everyone! I hope this day brings you all great happiness and good things.

Some of you may be aware that today marks 14 years since the 9-11-2001 terror attacks on our country. This is a day that we will never forget. We will never forget where we were. We will never forget how we felt. We will never forget that day.

But I am writing today to uplift us all. This was a day where loss was experienced and pain was felt. We must never forget how we felt when this occurred. We seem to forget things quite easily... When 9/11 happened, just about EVERYONE in this country was about helping, uniting, and being there for one another. WE MUST PRACTICE BEING KIND TO ONE ANOTHER ON A REGULAR BASIS. It is unfortunate that times of loss are what cause us to come together.

With social media, we can MAKE GOOD HAPPEN... ALL THE TIME! Sure, it takes practice, but so does getting good at a sport, or talking to girls, or writing, or being a good firefighter/police office, or being a good lawyer, etc. etc. etc.!!!

Please everyone, I'm asking you all to uplift one another. We don't need a terror attack to make this happen. Just DO GOOD!

Have a wonderful day.

Much love to ya,

Erik Bustillo

We Have to Learn to Enjoy Each Day

Good morning my friends! I have a short story to share with you all to help share perspective.

This morning in the office I said hello to a fellow co-worker and she said "hello Erik."
"How are you?" I asked. "It's Friday. And a long weekend," she replied....

I never got an answer to my question. Well, I did, and the assumption is that she is doing well and is happy because today is Friday and it is Labor Day Weekend (no work on Monday). Does this mean she is not well when it is not Friday or the weekend? Probably not, but this helps make my point today. We have to enjoy each day as it comes. We are always so focused on the outcome that we forget the process.. i.e. we forget to enjoy Tuesday because we are so focused on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday....

BUT THEN SUNDAY ARRIVES AND WE ARE UPSET BECAUSE TOMORROW IS MONDAY!!!

You see what we're doing there?!

MORAL OF THE STORY:
Take each day as it comes and enjoy it for what it's worth. Tomorrow does not exist... yet.

Do Something Kind Today, Tomorrow, the day after...

Hi everyone. I hope you all are well. I would like to start your week off with a kindness challenge that you can start today and keep doing it until the end of time. My challenge to YOU fellow reader, is to DO SOMETHING KIND TODAY, THEN TOMORROW, THEN THE DAY AFTER THAT, AND SO ON AND SO FORTH.

Kindness is contagious. Hold the door open without expecting a thank you, but if someone holds it open for you, say thank you. The youth need to learn kindness and we are the ones who can teach it to them.

I look forward to everyone being kind. And the best part is that you can do more than ONE kind thing. So get started!

Let me hear all about it on facebook, twitter, and instagram! @erikbustillo

Love, peace, and chicken grease!

Be Happy

Hi Everyone.

It's been a while since I wrote on here. I just wanted to tell everyone to be happy. You can choose happiness, might as well choose that over being sad.

Make it happen.
